Hudson Valley Geology
- Ian Giddy
leads a visual tour of our region's geology, and the rocks that tell
the tale of history.
- A brief overview of the last 1.3 billion
years in the Hudson River Valley, from the days when the land was
buried beneath the sea, rose up, crumbled, was pushed up again,
collapsed in fiery volcanic eruptions, dinosaurs wandered across the
land, and the whole lot was later buried under tons of ice. Our
beautiful Hudson Valley emerged from under that crushing burden about
12,000 years ago, only to be faced with the cataclysmic collapse of
Wall Street!
